General Info

Boil Order Information

When boil orders are issued, the EPA recommends that you boil any water for 2 minutes that you will consume. Boil orders as well as the lifting of such orders, are announced on the Cambridge radio stations, posted on this website, on our public Facebook page, and we attempt to make automated calls to those who are affected. For this, it is important that we have your current phone number. Keeping a few gallons of water on hand for these emergencies is a good idea.

Damaging Company Property

If you tamper with, damage or break company property, YOU are responsible for the replacement and labor costs. This includes the meter lids, remote-meters, wires and posts. If any accidents occur please notify us immediately.

Leaks at Home

Did you know that a leak the size of the head of a pin can add up to 11,000 gallons in a month? Please be alert for toilets that do not always properly shut off, unintentional dripping of a faucet, or water heaters running more than necessary.

Phone Numbers

Please notify the office when you change your phone number so that we can notify you in case of any emergencies. When an emergency occurs we use an automated system to place calls to all customers who are affected. If we do not have your updated phone number we will be unable to notify you by phone.

Swimming Pools

Please notify the office if you have or plan on filling a swimming pool for the summer. Each meter reading is checked for any high usage that is out of the ordinary. If we discover a person has used an excessive amount of water compared to their typical usage, we will go out and double check the reading. If you have filled a swimming pool it would be appreciated if you could let us know.

Billing

Customer bills should generally be received by the 1st or 2nd of each month. If you do not receive yours due to lost or damaged mail, call the office for the amount of your bill. If you do not receive a bill it does not exclude you from the responsibility to pay, and late charges can still be applied after the 20th. If paying after the 20th, you owe the late amount due which is shown in two places on your bill.

Meetings

Meetings are generally held on the 2nd Thursday in odd-numbered months at the Extension Operations office. For anyone interested in attending, please contact a board member or call the office for the scheduled meeting times.
